DETAILED MEETING SUMMARY AVAILABLE HERE
PRESS RELEASE AVAILABLE HERE
Harvard held, on September 29th and 30th, 2009, an invitational meeting to address the feasibility of a Health Information Technology Platform that supports substitutable applications, considered its design, and identified promising approaches, enabling factors and research questions (see www.chip.org/platform).
The meeting was highly participatory, and structured to foster dialogue on key technology, regulatory, and business issues. We steered that dialogue toward policy-relevant conclusions and propose approaches to continuing our conversation after the meeting.
There were three keynote addresses. An opening keynote was given by Mitch Kapor. The second day began with Clayton Christensen and Regina Herzlinger delivered her address toward the end of the meeting.
Aneesh Chopra, the US Chief Technology Officer and Todd Park, the HHS Chief Technology Officer lead a vibrant conversation on the health internet and opportunities for consumer engagement.
